After several meetings, we were able to finalize a plan for “GLOW Days,” on February 11 and 12, 2011.  Patricia, Martha, and Jackie led all the sessions with the help of three assistant counselors who each of them trained individually.

Over eighty girls ranging from 12 to 18 years old participated in the two-day GLOW workshop.  The girls represented three different schools, including a primary school, a neighboring mixed secondary school, and the host school.   Days and for being such great leaders.  They really are GLOWing brightly!

"Patricia, Martha, and Jackie, the girls from Bishop Tarantino College from Lira District, came back from Camp GLOW in Kisubi with such zeal and full of life that we had to find a way to channel that energy towards organizing our own Camp GLOW.  "

The three girls and I sat down a handful of times to discuss how we can organize a GLOW workshop to highlight some of the sessions that they enjoyed most from camp.

The two days were filled with sessions, such as Goal Setting, HIV Transmission, What is Sex?, Human Knot, Painting, Menstrual Cycle and Reproductive System, and many more.  The girls had a great time and learned about topics that are not discussed enough.  Our GLOW Days was a huge success!

I thank the Camp GLOW 2010 directors for organizing such a wonderful camp for my girls and for inspiring them.  They came back changed students, and I hope they will be able to keep the momentum going.

I’m really proud of the girls for organizing our GLOW
